YAMAHA MUSIC SCHOOL's Early Childhood Course PRIMARY Introduced Overseas
With digital educational materials supporting learning at home
Yamaha will begin the introduction of its music school early childhood course called PRIMARY overseas in April 2025. The course has been introduced in Japan by Yamaha Music Foundation since 2024.
PRIMARY is a renewal of the Junior Music Course for 4- and 5-year-olds and Music Wonderland for 3-year-olds that have been the core of YAMAHA MUSIC SCHOOL, focusing on a combined format of group and individual lessons. The new individual lessons will work with each child's uniqueness to ensure that they acquire the fundamental skills of piano and Electone performance, while the group lessons will maintain the experience of enjoying music with their peers. Together, these lessons will provide a better-balanced experience of listening, singing, playing, reading, and creating music. In the year following the introduction of this course, we will also introduce PRE JUNIOR, a course for children who want to start music at the age of 6. Through these efforts, we will revamp the course system to be flexible enough to start whenever younger children want to learn, rather than only offering the traditional path for the toddler to school-age children course advancement. We have also introduced digital educational materials to support learning at home by providing videos, audio files, and other content that can be viewed and practiced.

Since the founding of the YAMAHA MUSIC SCHOOL in 1954, we have operated under a philosophy to foster the musical sensitivity that everyone is born with, to develop the ability to enjoy creating and playing the music of their own and ultimately share the joy of music with anyone. To date, more than 5.5 million children have been taught in Japan, and the program has spread to more than 40 countries and regions worldwide. YAMAHA MUSIC SCHOOL, which began in Japan, celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2024 and has a new logo. The new logo mark represents our desire to provide a place for all music lovers, from children to adults, to share the joy of music. The light blue Do Re Mi sprout represents nurturing the mind with music.
