YAMAHA MUSIC SCHOOL Launches the ‘Yamaha Primary Course’ in Singapore

With Digital Educational Materials Supporting Learning at Home

Yamaha is set to globally introduce its new music school program, the "Yamaha Primary Course," which has been available in Japan since 2024. The course will debut in Singapore in July 2025 and will subsequently be rolled out in other countries and regions.

The Yamaha Primary Course represents a renewal of the Yamaha Junior Course (for ages 4-5.5) and Music Wonderland (for age 3), which have long been the cornerstone programmes of YAMAHA MUSIC SCHOOL. This updated curriculum incorporates fresh music content and digital educational materials to elevate the learning experience.

The Yamaha Primary Course aims to ensure that children develop a strong foundation in piano and Electone performance through a balanced approach to listening, singing, playing, reading, and creating music. The newly introduced digital educational materials via our Learning Management System provide a wide range of engaging content, including review videos for home practice and interactive games that make learning to read music enjoyable, thereby enhancing learning outside the classroom. Additionally, supplementary individual lessons are available as an optional add-on for a more personalised and enriched musical experience.

Since its founding in 1954, YAMAHA MUSIC SCHOOL has been guided by a philosophy of nurturing the innate musical sensitivity that everyone possesses, fostering the ability to create and play music independently, and ultimately sharing the joy of music with others. To date, the program has expanded to over 40 countries and regions worldwide. In 2024, YAMAHA MUSIC SCHOOL, which originated in Japan, celebrated its 70th anniversary and unveiled a new logo. The new logo embodies our commitment to providing a space where all music lovers, from children to adults, can share the joy of music. The light blue "Do Re Mi" sprout symbolises the nurturing of the mind through music.
