Learning Music in Early Childhood is Beneficial

According to Dr. Shinichi Furuya, a neuroscientist, the early childhood (3-6 years old) is a critical period for effective acquisition of musical skills, and thus, is an opportune time for musical experiences. Musical skills such as the discrimination of the pitch (“perfect pitch”), rhythm, and harmony can be easily acquired at this phase. This is because the child's cognitive functions are developing rapidly at this developmental stage.
