New Yamaha AVENTAGE A70 Series Leads Industry with Vibrant HDR Technologies, TIDAL and Deezer Support

Yamaha today unveiled its eighth generation AVENTAGE series network AV receivers that offer the latest video capabilities and expanded support for popular music streaming services including TIDAL and Deezer and the latest MusicCast support. The new AV receivers - RX-A870, RX-A1070, RX-A2070 and RX-A3070 - are all engineered for sound and are the product of the Yamaha design philosophy and obsessive craftsmanship. The series has garnered widespread accolades since the company first introduced the premium line in 2010.

Performance enhancements on these new AV receivers include a range of cutting-edge immersive audio and video features, such as stunningly realistic 4K Ultra HD video supporting three different high dynamic range (HDR) video profiles: baseline HDR10, Dolby Vision™ and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG). Both Dolby Vision and HLG will support the widest possible contrast ratios and colour gamut from forthcoming live HDR broadcast signals, along with supporting Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc™ and 4K streaming video services. The two latest HDR profiles will be arriving to join the HDR10 standard through a firmware update this year.

All AVENTAGE AV receivers integrate high-performance DSPs supporting a wide range of audio formats including head-turning 3D surround sound from Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X™ soundtracks.

A hallmark of the Yamaha AV ecosystem is MusicCast, the company’s versatile wireless multiroom audio system. MusicCast sets the standard for ease of use and quality of engineering, while delivering great sounding music wirelessly throughout the home, and all controlled by a simple app. Music lovers will be further delighted with the addition of the popular TIDAL and Deezer apps to the MusicCast streaming service library with each offering music selections of more than 40 million songs. All the AVENTAGE models will support those services out of the box.

Even the base AVENTAGE model, the AVENTAGE RX-A870, provides a high level of innovation and sophistication at 100 W per channel. This 7.2-channel network AV receiver includes seven HDMI® inputs (three with HDCP 2.2 copy protection) and dual HDMI/HDCP 2.2 outputs; Dolby Atmos and DTS:X object-based surround sound; Virtual CINEMA FRONT and Extra Bass; Virtual Surround Back Speaker, YPAO™ sound optimization and built-in Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® wireless connectivity. In addition, the AVENTAGE RX-A870 also feature 4K video upscaling of lower resolution video sources from HDMI and analogue inputs. The receiver's second HDMI monitor output lets users send the same HDMI audio/video input signal that is being played in the main zone to a second zone. For enhanced Zone 2 capabilities, the AV receiver adds Zone Tone Control, Zone Volume EQ (automatically balances bass and treble to match volume); Zone Extra Bass (amplifies bass in the main room and Zone 2); and Zone 2 controls for balance, mono, Compressed Music Enhancer, audio delay, sleep and Party Mode. The RX-A870 also features a dedicated Phono (MM) input for connecting a turntable and listening to vinyl records.

The AVENTAGE RX-A1070 applies Yamaha’s world-renowned Cinema DSP HD3 processing on top of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X object based audio for even more dynamic and lifelike motion and spatial representation from 3D surround sound programming. Making this level of highly sophisticated digital processing possible are its three DSP LSI chips onboard, effortlessly providing 3D immersive surround sound with enhanced levels of presence and realism without acoustic boundaries. Other step-up features from the RX-A870 include: 110 W per channel; seven HDMI 2.0a inputs with HDCP 2.2 and dual HDMI/HDCP 2.2 outputs. The AV receiver also adds symmetrical amplifier layout and YPAO multipoint room calibration with 64-bit precision EQ and subwoofer EQ for precise automatic channel output adjustments.

The AVENTAGE RX-A2070 moves up to 9.2 channels (5.2.4 or 7.2.2 channel) and includes advanced Yamaha video processing with HDMI zone switching supporting Powered Zone 2 and 3 and HDMI Zone 4. The AV receiver steps up to 140 W per channel and includes dual SABRE™ Premier DACs and YPAO R.S.C. with 3D, multipoint and angle calibration providing 3D speaker location measurement.

The flagship AVENTAGE RX-A3070 is a 9.2-channel AV receiver that is expandable to 11.2 channels or 7.2.4 channels of object-based surround (with an external-channel amp). The AV receiver steps up to 150 W per channel and adds an ESS ES9026PRO SABRE DAC™ and SABRE32™ Ultra DAC delivering minimized distortion and ground-breaking signal-to-noise levels. It also includes XLR-balanced inputs for secure and stable pro-level signal transmission with reduced degradation from supporting source components.
