In 2006, ‘A Fantasy of Fragments’ was composed for a small formation of 20 people from Takanawadai School wind instrument section, which is affiliated to Tokai University, who took part in Tokyo Branch C category.
In this melody there are many short elements (i.e. Fragments) that appear and the formation was created by combining all of them. The concept of the song has a more mysterious atmosphere than the word ‘illusion (fantasy)’. Each fragment in the concept is constantly changing with Jazz music and uses a variety of Waltz and Blues Notes. The image is an exhilarating one like a merry-go-round.

It starts with the bass and woodwind instruments changing their rhythms. The motive of these changing rhythms is so that you can keep the modulation as it is and magnify it, and also to change the solo appearances of each instrument thoughout the song. I think that during the performance, the focus should be on articulation because the singing is not just gentle singing or vivid attacks but appears as a mixture of both forms.

In addition, please arrange with the whole band to change with the atmosphere as the designated tempo and melodic concept changes in each phrase.
