The setting is 4200 meters under sea-level in the year 2033. Natural resources on earth have been exhausted and humans are now planning to extract the crude oil from deep sea mantle. However, highly corrosive ancient bacteria lies dormant in this mantle layer. Conflict develops between the profit-driven scientists, the heroine who tries to stop the excavation process, and the engineers who stand up against the dangerous bacteria.
"Umi no Ourora" is a 1.5hr CG animation that took Nippon Television nearly three years to produce. Excerpts from six songs from the official soundtrack - 「深海 Deep Sea」「圧壊 Crush」「予言 Omen」「脱出 Breakout」「地上 Above Ground」「メインテーマ Main Theme」 were extracted and reconstructed to form this piece.
