Join our Saxophone Course, designed mainly for adults and youths. Master the basic techniques through utilizing original course materials and a curriculum developed by Yamaha Music Foundation, Japan.
Our qualified teachers will guide you through a musical journey with our wide repertoire of different music genres, even if you are a beginner with no prior background in music. But if you have experience in playing, you are encouraged to join a more advanced course.
In Yamaha, we keep our group class size small, allowing greater personal attention for you. Alternatively, join an individual class for a more flexible pace of learning.

- Fundamental techniques and posture in saxophone playing
- Basic music rudiments and musical terms
- Scales, modes and its application in solo playing
- Chord Study
- Embouchure and tonguing
- Fingering principles
- Air support and breathing
- Resonator control and articulation
- Wide repertoire of traditional, pop, contemporary and simple jazz music
Main Skills Acquired in This Course
Textbook 1
- To acquire basic knowledge of the instrument, adjusting reed, position of mouth piece etc.
- Rudiments of notation, musical terms and tempo
- Progressive exercises for tonguing, breathing and training on tone stability
- Rhythm training and breath control on crotchets, quavers and triplets and rests
- Scales: Harmonic Minor, arpeggios and chromatic scales
Textbook 2
- Exercises for technical study in various keys
- Explanation on Diatonic Chords
- Continuation study on major and minor scale
- Rhythm and Chord exercises: Reggae, Shuffle and Funk (16th Beats) genre
- More exercises on technical study and jazz etude
- Playing High notes to develop wider range
Textbook 3
- Rhythm and Chords exercises: Using chords based on modes and scales learned
- Experience on ad-lib playing
- Advance exercises on Jazz Etude
