Join our flute course, designed mainly for adults and youth. Master the basic essential techniques through utilizing original course materials and a curriculum developed by Yamaha Music Foundation, Japan.
Our qualified teachers will guide you through a musical journey with our wide repertoire of different music genres even if you are a beginner with no prior background in music. But if you have experience in playing, you are encouraged to join a more advanced level.
In Yamaha, we keep our group class size small, allowing greater personal attention for you. Alternatively, join an individual class for a more flexible pace of learning.

Course Content
- Fundamental techniques and posture in flute playing
- Extensive exercise for finger training
- Embouchure and tonguing
- Proper breath control
- Basic music rudiments and musical terms
- Chord Study and melody variations
- Musical phrasing and expression
- Music reading and ear-training
- Wide repertoire of famous classical works, easy listening, pop, basic latin and Jazz using back-up tracks
Main Skills Acquired in This Course
Textbook 1
- Handling and assembling of instrument training on proper breathing, correct embouchure and position of mouthpiece.
- Training on tonguing and various articulations
- To acquire comfortable playing range: E1 to G2
- Scales – Major and Minor scales
- Rhythm and chord – expose to rhythm styles such as 8 beat, Cha Cha Cha and Rock Ballad
Textbook 2
- Long note sustainability
- Continuation on articulation, rhythm, chord and tonguing training
- To acquire comfortable playing at high range: A2 to D3
- Scales : Major and Minor (up to 1#), introduction of Arpeggio and Chromatic Scale
- Training on transposition
- Introduction to double and triple tonguing
Textbook 3
- Training on dynamic control, introduction to vibrato
- Articulation: Fluency in single, double and triple tonguing
- Training on good tone quality, expressive playing
- Progressive exercises for technique training, such as trills and other ornaments
