Technical Support Engineer, PA Sales & Marketing

Purpose:-

To provide technical expertise and know-how of the products and to keep up to date technical information of digital PA products for Singapore & Overseas Markets.

Job Responsibilities:-

  • Customer Support:
    • Provide technical support and training to customers via phone, email, online (virtual online), or in-person, addressing inquiries and troubleshooting audio system issues including but not limited to audio interface, digital audio workstation, amplifiers, speakers, digital mixers, and digital signal processors (DSPs).
    • To manage Steinberg's technical issues and communicate with Steinberg on all Digital Audio Workstations and licensing. Also managing Yamaha PV Cloud licensing.
    • Assist customers in configuring, installing, and troubleshooting complex audio systems for optimal performance within the project job scope upon being engaged.
    • Retail (especially Plaza Singapura) display set-up and maintenance assistance for the best customer experience of PA products, especially CS&C (MPP) products.
  • Problem Resolution:
    • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues related to audio equipment promptly and effectively.
    • Collaborate with the technical team (including the technical service centre team) to escalate and resolve complex technical problems, ensuring minimal downtime for our clients.
  • Product Knowledge:
    • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in audio technology and products.
    • Develop a deep understanding of our product offerings to provide accurate information and solutions to customers.
  • Documentation:
    • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides and FAQs, to assist both customers and internal teams.
  • Training and Education:
    • Conduct training sessions for staff for both retail and wholesales, export distributors/importers (online and onsite), and customers (retail and wholesales) on the proper use of audio equipment.
    • Provide internal and external training on new products and support procedures.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Perform quality checks on audio equipment to ensure that project business project partners meet company standards and customer expectations.
    • Gather customer feedback and communicate insights with the respective Yamaha Corporation, Japan team via the Redmine portal provided.

Asset / PA Store / YDACC Management:

  • Inventory Tracking:
    • Keep a detailed record of all assets owned by the organization, including their location, condition, and usage.
  • Lifecycle Management:
    • Monitor assets from acquisition to disposal, ensuring optimal utilization and making informed decisions about repairs, upgrades, or replacements.
  • Maintenance and Compliance:
    • Implement regular maintenance schedules to extend asset lifespan and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks associated with assets, such as depreciation or technological obsolescence, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Inventory Control:
    • Maintain a well-organized inventory of production-related items, tracking quantities, conditions, and availability.
  • Equipment Checkout/Return:
    • Facilitate the checkout and return process via DocuSign, ensuring that equipment is properly logged and accounted for.
  • Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Oversee the housekeeping, maintenance, and repairs of equipment in the PA Store to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Others
    • Any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:-

  • Minimum Diploma in Audio Engineering, Electronics & Communications
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Live Sound mixing, preferably on Loudspeaker System & Digital Mixing Console
  • Able to provide technical support in Pre & Post Sales Activities (Vertical & Horizontal Sales Environment)
  • Knowledge in Yamaha Professional audio products will be an added advantage
