Iskandar has traveled throughout Asia, Europe and USA giving masterclasses and performing with orchestras such as Israel Philharmonic, American Bach Soloist, San Francisco Symphony, Macao Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra and has performed under the baton of distinguished conductors like Michael Tilson Thomas, Sir Simon Rattle, Riccardo Chailly, Mariss Jansons, Okko Kamu in many important concert venues including the Louis M. Davies Symphony Hall, Konzerthaus Berlin, The Concertgebouw and the Berlin Philharmonie.

From his earliest years Iskandar forged a pioneering path in creating new music for percussion. He has given the premier performances of a vast number of new concertos, solo literature and has appeared as soloist with orchestras and ensembles such as the San Francisco Composer Orchestra, San Francisco Youth Symphony, Singapore National Youth Orchestra, Singapore Wind Symphony Percussion Ensemble and Singapore Wind Symphony. He also did a California west coast premiere of the opera, Wozzeck by Alban Berg re-orchestrated by John Rea for chamber ensemble setting with Ensemble Parallel, a French New Music Ensemble. He had premiered Satoshi Yagisawa Marimba Concerto with the Singapore Wind Symphony in 2011 in an acclaimed sold-out performance conducted by Mr Satoshi, in Singapore.

Iskandar currently serves as the Music Director of the Singapore Wind Symphony Percussion Ensemble since 2011, he has taken the ensemble to greater heights by winning the Gold Award with Distinction, 92.67 at the World Music Contest for Percussion Ensemble (First Division) 2013 in Kerkrade, the Netherlands. He founded Singapore Percussion Ensemble Festival in 2014 to bring more awareness of Percussion Ensemble movement in Singapore.

Iskandar teaches at the United World College, Singapore and coaches the percussion / timpani students at the Singapore National Youth Orchestra.
